Bobbi Plecas
Intergovernmental Relations Secretariat
Deputy Minister
Bobbi Plecas was appointed Deputy Minister, Climate Change in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in July 2017. In this role, Bobbi led the development of the cross-government CleanBC plan, aimed at reducing climate pollution through a transition to clean energy. In addition to detailing actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, CleanBC provides an effective blueprint to build the province’s economy by recognizing that the same ideas and technology that reduce emissions and improve quality of life can drive economic growth and help businesses succeed in the global market for clean energy, technologies, products, and expertise. Bobbi has been a member of the provincial public service for more than 25 years and has held a variety of executive roles across government. She lives in the province’s capital city, Victoria, with her partner and two daughters.
